Once Upon a Time

In a distant, far off land
Lives my prince, a knight
That comes to call in time

Trapped am I, in the confines,
of a barricade, with no way out
I long to be saved, taken away
As to rescue me, from myself

He is everything one may desire
As he sets the heart and soul afire
With one touch, a glance – a kiss
Awakening deep within, in radiance

He holds the power to shed light
The wisdom to enlighten my mind
Upon god’s grace, a gift unto self
As scars are bared, kindred to my own
In eternal battles, fought ceaselessly

In fairytales do they dwell, tis’ known
Until the final moment – one awakens
Finding oneself mesmerized, charmed
In the transparency of his heart –soul
Leaving me breathless, with such love

Yet for now, locked up I shall remain
In a bolted fortress, patiently awaiting
As time stands still - motionless
Lost in a reverie where fairytales exist
